......turns me on.

☮ ♥ ♫ :)

There is far too much focus on understanding—on being understood. The defining characteristics of those things—books, films, paintings, pieces of music—that I consider to be art were not things I understood, but things I felt, and felt very deeply. I was left—happily, I might add—altered and confused and amazed. I felt enthusiastic about what I had seen and what I now faced. I don’t trust those who need to understand things. There is artistry and joy in not knowing. Feel more. That was what I meant to say.

America was built on two monumental crimes: the genocide of the Native American and the enslavement of the African American. The tendency of official America is to memorialize other peoples’ crimes and to forget its own - to seek a high moral ground as a pretext to ignore real issues.

I have never seen such perfect sentences.

From my photo session with @LoveYourLines (on Instagram).

My love lines. No shame.
My daughter came from this body. She left behind the evidence of her residence.

alexandraelle:

Another beautiful woman unashamed of the love lines on her body.

Stretch marks can find a home on your body no matter the shape or size!

Loving the @loveyourlines campaign on Instagram.

"A hundred years ago they used to put on a white sheet and use a bloodhound against Negroes. Today they have taken off the white sheet and put on police uniforms and traded in the bloodhounds for police dogs, and they’re still doing the same thing.”
